Graphic Communication A-Level at Kenton School

Course description

You will make a broad study of graphic communication and be shown a full range of practical and presentation techniques. All units of work must be supported with preparatory sketches, paintings and historical investigation.

Course content

The course is structured in two halves, AS and A2, each comprising two units of work, one coursework and one examination unit. Practical work is based on the study of Graphic Communication and Graphic Artists. Candidates should produce practical and critical/contextual work in one or more areas including illustration, advertising, packaging design, design for print, communication graphics, computer graphics, multimedia, animation, web design, film, television and/or video.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements are 5 A*-C GCSE passes,one of which must be in either Graphics or Art andDesign at C or above.

AQA/ AS/A2 Level Art and Design Graphic Communication

 

All practical and preparatory work is internally assessed and externally moderated by AQA.

Future opportunities

Students have progressed on to degrees in Graphic Communication, Interactive Media and Motion Graphics, Illustration and Design, or other Art/Design Degree courses.
