This course is excellent for anyone wishing to go into employment in the health and social care sector, particularly in positions
where there will be an expectation to use an understanding of care principles and values, communicating effectively with individuals, understanding differing needs, legislation, equality and life stages.
This course incorporates examinations as well as coursework which is both internally and externally moderated by OCR. You
will also develop transferable skills such as communication skills as well as research, planning and organisation.

GCSE English grade 5 and above.
All units are centre-assessed and externally moderated by OCR. At present there are timetabled exams for this qualification. The full award and units from this qualification are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. The full qualification is a double award, so canditates can gain a P/P, P/M, M/M, M/D, D/D, D*/D, D*/D*.
This qualification is designed to enable individuals to enter employment in health and social care, through a work-related
training programme or higher education. It also opens many avenues for future career pathways such as alternative therapy work, social care, physiotherapy, child psychology, nursing and education, as well as the emergency services. You can work with young
children, people with physical and/or learning difficulties and the elderly and in a variety of environments.
