Maintenance Operations Level 2 at East Kent College

Course description

Perfect if you want to develop basic skills in a wide variety of trades.

Course content

You’ll learn how to undertake small scale repairs in the areas of carpentry, bricklaying, plastering, ceramic tiling, painting and decorating and plumbing.

You can look forward to the chance to learn a whole range of skills needed to work within the building maintenance industry.

This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at D grades or equivalent, including Maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 1 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

You will learn through practical sessions in our specially designed Centre for Environmental Technologies. Assessment will be through practical demonstrations, written work and online tests.

Financial information

Additional expenses to consider:Trip, Hard hat and High-Visual vest, approx. £45If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.
