Course description

This course (equivalent to 1 A level) provides learners with a broad range of knowledge in the first year –covering IT in business, web development, software development, technical skills. and employabilty skills

Course content

 

For those interested in working, or further study in the field of Computing or Information Technology in a variety of areas.

This is equivalent to 1 A Level that means that when you have finished the course you can choose whether to look for employment or onto year 2 for the Extended Diploma, worth 3 A levels, or go into higher education.

This course contains theoretical and practical elements, learning by completing projects and assessments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

The course is structured such that you will focus on a particular subject area and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge and learn about the employment area that you have chosen as well as developing the skills you need to start a career in IT.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grades A*-C including English and Mathematics or BTEC IT Users level 3 or equivalent qualification

Assessment

BTEC assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
