Music - Music Performance - Level 2 at North Kent College
Based within the Miskin Theatre, this one year, full-time programme, is aimed at musicians and/or music technicians looking for a foundation or induction to a career in a vibrant creative industry. It introduces trainees to the core disciplines within both music and music technology. Suitable for aspiring musicians, performers, producers, composers, and sound designers. Rated as a grade 1 (outstanding) course by Ofsted.
This course is based on an industrial model via our production company, Miskin Music. Miskin Music produces a diverse array of live performance and recorded music productions. Trainees participate in 'real world' professional processes with an emphasis on attracting audiences and consumers. Trainees will also develop and refine an online portfolio/personal website, increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into either employment or our specialist Level 3 programmes in music or music technology. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities are embedded in our work, offering trainees an introduction to music performance techniques, composition, as well as audio production/sequencing.Projects/processes include;Live Performance techniques Sound recording & sequencing Introduction To Music Business Professional development Composing Studio performance techniques
Reasonable Instrument/Vocal ability (Musicians), Evidence Of Commitment To Subject/Basic music keyboard skills (Music Technicians). To be assessed via interview/audition.

£150 per year Miskin company contribution. Cost of materials (instrument maintenance, portable hard drive etc).
