THE AIMS OF THE QUALIFICATION ARE: • To provide a way in which students can gain accreditation for enrichment and study activities they are undertaking as part of their post-16 course • To enable students to develop and demonstrate a range of skills, which will help support their future study or work.
the cope assessment and certificate is based on portfolio evidence of the following six skills:
Working with others (WO)
Improving own learning and performance (LP)
Problem solving (PS)
Oral presentation (OP)
The design of the CoPE programme, with its emphasis on action planning and reviewing, group work activities, and problem solving means that students can readily access the requirements of these six skills within the activities they undertake for the qualification.

CoPE offers students a choice of challenges from six modules:
Work related activities
Students plan each challenge, deciding which skills they hope to focus on and then they collect evidence of their activities as they go along. At the end of each challenge they evaluate and record their progress, noting the skills they have developed and demonstrated. When they have completed sufficient challenges, they submit this booklet, together with a portfolio of evidence, for assessment by ASDAN.
