Sport BTEC Level 3 (single award) at The Thomas Aveling School

Course description

This is a work related course. Students learn by completing assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

  • Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport,
  • The physiology of fitness,
  • Assessing risk in sport
  • Fitness testing in sport and exercise
  • Psychology for sports performance,
  • current issues in sport
  • leadership in sport
  • the athlete‚Äôs lifestyle.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) at grad A* - C, including PE or level 1 vocational qualification in Sport.

Future opportunities

The BTEC National Award is useful for students thinking of a career in the Sports and Leisure industry. It can also be as part of a route into Higher Education
