BTEC HNC Diploma in Creative Media Production (QCF) at King Edward VI College, Nuneaton
This highly practical course isaimed at those interested in film and video making. The course encourages experimentation and creative development. It includes all aspects of digital video film making as well as an emphasis on the use of sound and editing using Final Cut Pro. This course provides a foundation in aspects of the moving image and sound, to allow students to understand current developments and deal with changes in technology. It will enable learners to develop a portfolio of work which can be shown to potential employers or higher educational establishments. The course comprises of ten units, the majority of which are practical.

The students had seminars with award winning Director Ken Loach and former Edinburgh Film Festival Director Jim Hickey.
Students should have 2 A levels or another level 3 qualification, preferably in a related subject. Some knowledge or experience of lens based media or arts subject is useful, especially in the case of mature students without qualifications.
This course is subject to tuition fees and as such maybe liable for student loan assistance.
Successful completion of the Higher National Diploma usually allows students to go directly into the second year of a degree course.
This will allow the students to reduce higher education costs.
Mac suite for full-time HNC students, cameras (digital), editing (Final Cut Pro), studio with lighting facilities for film and video production. The Higher National Certificates contain real benefits for students financially- last year's students have now gone straight to second year university degree courses, thus saving thousands of pounds in their journey to gain a full honours degree.
