A/S Biology at Bradford Academy

Course description

The course will include study of the Biology of Disease.

You will study the way the human body works and how it is affected by disease. When you study the Variety of Living Organisms, you will look at how living things in the environment interact with each other.

You wil also look at Science in the wider world and the impact that it has.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE grades A* to C including English & Maths and a minimum grade B in GCSE Science.

To be successful on this course, the skills you will need are:

  • Ability to learn new concepts
  • Good independent learning skills and self motivation
  • Good practical skills
  • Be able to analyse and evaluate scientific knowledge

Assessment

Examinations are held in June and learners will complete three 2 hour exams that will assess their subject knowledge and practical skills.

Future opportunities

This is a nationally recognised qualification for entering employment in the Science and medical sector. It also ofers students direct progession onto a university degree course.
