Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Grantham College

Course description

If you want to enter a caring profession this course is designed for you. It covers a wide range of compulsory subjects that are relevant to the Care sector. Students will study the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in year one and upon successful completion will progress to either the BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma.

Course content

All of the Caring & Early Years Education courses are subject to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for which an additional charge is payable

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English Language or equivalent (e.g. First Diploma in Health & Social Care with Merit/Distinction profile and English GCSE Grade C).


Assignments, work placement observation/reports. From 2017 this programme will include external assessment and examinations.

Financial information

Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.  Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.

Future opportunities

Progression on to the second year of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or employment within the care sector or as a Health Care support worker.
