Art A level at St Robert of Newminster Roman Catholic School

Course description

If you have a desire to work in the Artistic field then this may be the course for you. This course will lead to an Arts Foundation Course or a University course.

Course content

The OCR A level courses are designed to encourage a broad approach to Art, which will allow you to develop a sound grounding in a number of areas while still exploring the  subject in depth. The course builds on the skillss, knowledge and understanding acquired at GCSE.

For both AS and A2 you will follow a broad course based around drawing and painting.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C

Assessment

You are assessed on portfolio evidence presented for each unit.  This is internally assessed and externally moderated.  All units will be marked by your own teacher and moderated by OCR.

Further information

A qualification in Art can lead to careers in all sectors of industry, besides publishing, advertising and the media, working as a fine artist, art historian or teacher.

It complements most other A-level subjects.
