Course description

Why study Graphic Communication?

  • I want to undertake projects relating to advertising, branding, web design and illustration.

Course content

The course is project based with the majority of time being spent in the drawing/computer room and art studio. Students will have the opportunity to decide between advertisement, branding, web design or illustration.

Throughout the course you will develop many skills including; observational drawing, photography, researching, media experimentation, computer aided design and image manipulation.

Entry requirements

Stockton Sixth Form College prides itself on having options for students of different abilities, and would advise any prospective student interested in applying, whatever their predicted grades, to get in touch so that a suitable programme of study can be discussed.

The college has a flexible timetable whereby almost all combinations of subjects are possible. Students will be advised of any non-compatible subject choices, if appropriate, at enrolment.

Assessment

Internally, with students producing a sketchbook and portfolio for each unit.

Future opportunities

This subject is accepted by all universities for a wide range of courses including graphic design, computer games design and illustration.
