Business - BTEC Level 2 at Pool Hayes Arts and Community School

Course description

Brief Course Content

This course is project based (no exams).  It provides an excellent basis introduction to the world of Business.  Topics include how businesses are formed, how they market their services, use communication effectively and operate online.

Students will study Business and ICT but may opt to retake English and/or Maths.  All students will follow the core curriculum including General Studies.

Students choosing a Vocational Course will be encouraged to use their own initiative, plan and organise their own work, and to work as a member of a team.  Work placements are a required element of some courses.  All vocational students will be expected to study for at least 5-10 hours per week outside lesson. 

Progression

This course is worth two GCSE's  Students can also progress onto the Level 3 Dimploma in Business or move into the world of work with a good general understanding of how businesses work. 

Entry requirements

Grade F or above in English

Vocational courses are open to all students who can satify the school that they will be able to benifit from continued study for a further period of one year.  To follow a Level 2 course, students should have gained GCSE results in the region of C-E.
