Roofing Occupations - Level 2 NVQ Diploma at South Devon College

Course description

This brand new Level 2 Roofing Apprenticeship has been designed and developed by industry specialists to cover a range of roofing activities. This is a two year apprenticeship and you will attend College one day a week throughout the duration of your apprenticeship. The remaining part of the working week will be spent with your employer on site developing the skills and competence needed in order to achieve the apprenticeship framework and become a fully qualified roofing specialist.

Course content

What will I learn?

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Installing roofing backgrounds and components
  • Installing pre-formed weathering flashings to roofs
  • Installing single-lap roof coverings to a variable gauge
  • Installing plain pile roof coverings
  • Installing regular sized natural roof slate to standard roof details

Entry requirements

  • You will be required to have achieved Maths at Level 1
  • You will be required to have achieved English at Level 1
  • You should have a genuine interest in this subject
