Entry requirements

You will need at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C).  You will normally need at least a grade 4/C in English Language and Maths. Non-GCSE qualifications like BTEC Level 2 in a related area can count towards this total, but we will also look at your overall academic profile.  The course contains a lot of written work, so you will need to be able to demonstrate confidence in writing through a grade 4/C in English Language or a related subject.  An ability to work with figures will be useful as elements of the course cover mathematical and accounting theory and practice.

Assessment

Assessment is carried out by a series of assignments which are marked by your teachers. Assessment methods throughout the course will include reports, case studies, examinations, controlled assessment, presentations and practical assessments.

Financial information

Everything you must have to undertake the course will be provided by College.  You may have to pay for extras such as trips/visits.

Future opportunities

A variety of options are available to you following study of business.  The skills and knowledge developed by the course would be useful for progression to management training courses in banking, other financial institutions and retailing.  If you want to go on to higher education there are degree courses available in business studies, marketing and accounting.
