Performing Arts Level 2 at Wiltshire College

Course description

Trowbridge has state of the art professional studio theatre - The Arc Theatre in which Drama and Music are taught, a specilaist Dance Studio and a newly refurbished Drama Studio. 

Students at Trowbridge actually start the year with a devised performance which will feature Acting, Dance and Singing before developing their skills over the winter before their first major public performance shortly before Easter.

Course content

Through practical workshops and spending time in our professional theatre venues and studios, you will develop the confidence and skills you need to become a professional performer. Learn dance and drama skills, devising your own plays and choreographing dance pieces. You will practice singing and learn about the different element of theatre, including production.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including Maths and English, or equivalent.

A successful audition and good references.


You will be assessed on your coursework. This will be made up of performances, video evidence, presentations and written documents. 

The Functional skills in Maths and English are assessed by exam.

The final qualification is a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing  Arts.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto our Level 3 Performing Arts course or perhaps into Production Arts on our Salisbury campus. The industry is fiercely competitive, so you will need a real determination to succeed in roles such as actor, presenter, dancer, choreographer, producer, scriptwriter and many more.
