Advanced Apprenticeship in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership at Norfolk Training Services

Course description

At Level 3, the City & Guilds Diploma in Hospitality aims to build on or recognise good practice in hospitality to support their technical expertise in any job role, acknowledging the importance of effective communication and service delivery.

Aimed at

  • Supervisor/Manager – Responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the hotel or other hospitality outlet, co-ordinating the functions of departments, maximising the customer experience, resolving problems, ensuring staff comply with health and safety, fire and hygiene regulations, monitoring security systems and ensuring a high standard of personal presentation.
  • Regional Supervisor/Manager – responsible for a number of restaurants or pubs in a chain with multiple outlets. This might entail working with managers, senior staff and head office to ensure that the individual businesses run smoothly, controlling sales and costs, ensuring that problems are dealt with promptly, playing a key role in the development of new facilities, menu changes and pricing, special promotions and events and ensuring food safety and health and safety of staff.

Course content

All Apprenticeships are required to last for a minimum of 12 months. This qualification will usually take 18 months to complete when on the apprenticeship programme, as learners may need to complete Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1, depending on prior qualifications. Learners will also have to sit an online test to obtain a Technical Certificate. Please note this is only a guideline of how long it will take to complete the qualification.
