Mathematics GCSE Resit at Outwood Grange Academy
For students who have not achieved a grade C in GCSE Maths.
The course is designed to enable students to reach grade C. The course is the same as that taken in Years 10 & 11, although it is a one-year course. It is designed to revise and clarify previous work, although some new topics will be studied with the aim of improving Year 11 GCSE performance. There is also the opportunity to work on new investigational tasks. After discussion with teachers, some students expected to achieve a grade C in Year 11 may resubmit the same coursework and take two, two-hour examination papers in November. Others will undertake two pieces of coursework during the autumn and spring terms, which count for 20 per cent of the final grade and two examination papers in June.
Normal entry requirement is grade D.
