Photography at Denefield School
Course structure and assessment is essentially thesame as our long standing and successful GCE inart.Unit 1 (50% total AS marks): coursework portfolio -Students produce a portfolio which exemplifieswork carried out throughout the AS course. Unit 2 (50% total AS marks): externally set assignment. Students produce preparation work from 1 February in the Spring Term, culminating in a five hour supervised exam in May.
Unit 3 (50% A2 marks): personal investigation.Students are required to develop a personalinvestigation based on an idea, issue, conceptor theme, supported by a written element. Unit 4 (50% A2 marks): externally set assignment. Students produce preparation work from 1 February in the Spring Term, culminating in a fifteen hour supervised exam in May.
To study the full range of AS Level subjects you will need to have achieved an average of 46 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly B grades +) and, a minimum of B grades in science and/or mathematics should you be applying to study these subjects.
