Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 at New College Stamford
Gain experience and insight in to the health and social care sector, acquiring a range of skills and personal attributes to progress to a supervised role in the industry. You will study communication, individual rights, individual needs and ensuring safe environments in health and social care whilst gaining real-life experience to support your studies.You will have the opportunity to take part in events to help your progression to University such as Anglia Ruskin’s annual Nursing and Social Work Taster Day. You will also have the opportunity to take part in an end of year visit to Alton Towers Theme Park.This course is approximately 60% theory and 40% practical.
Youwill learn through a wide variety of learning methods including written assessment, professional discussion, presentations and group and practical activities.You will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience to support your studies. We recommend 60 hours will further support your studies and progression in to the Health and Social Care sector.
4 GCSEs at grades D or above , including English and maths at grades D/3 or above.
The majority of assessement will be completed through written tasks. Although there are externally marked assessments you will not have to take any exams as part of this course.
After successful completion of this course you can progress on to the Health and Social Care Extended Diploma Level 3 or a Health and Social Care Apprenticeship.
Students will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate ‘with no grounds that a student is professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement’.
