Warehousing and Storage - level 1 and 2 at Buxton & Leek College

Course description

Logistics and warehousing help to keep industry moving. Our course are designed to meet the needs of many different industries by providing skills and knowledge essential in this field. Once you have completed the Level 1 course you can move straight onto the Level 2 course as soon as you’re ready.

Course content

You’ll learn your practical in our state of the art Skillsbase Training Centre. We offer a very hands on learning approach as well as the necessary theory sessions and demonstrations.

Our fantastic links with employers mean that you’ll learn your trade on the latest, hi-tec industry standard equipment such as warehouse racking, shelving and packaging and forklift trucks supplied by Briggs.

Entry requirements

Level 1: There are no entry requirements for this course.

Level 2: Three GCSEs at grade D or above or a BTEC Certificate in a similar subject or Pathways to Progression Level 1 Diploma in Vocational Studies or Level 1 Warehousing & Storage.

Future opportunities

Once you have completed the Level 1 course you can move straight onto the Level 2 course as soon as you’re ready. On completion of the Level 2 course you can progress onto an Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Storage or various careers in the logistics, warehousing and storage industry.

With backing from leading industry players, the Skillsbase Training Centre enables students and apprentices to study towards vocational qualifications in subjects such as motor vehicle engineering, logistics, warehousing and storage, construction crafts, railway engineering, track maintenance, welding and driving. The industry standard facilities also serve as the ideal backdrop for employers seeking flexible training programmes to upskill their workforce.

      Buxton & Leek College acquired Unit 28 on Harpur Hill Business Park in 2012 after it outgrew its former premises due to the increasing demand for apprenticeships, vocational and industry courses.
