IT and Telecoms Intermediate Apprenticeship at Epping Forest College

Course description

This apprenticeship is ideal if you are interested in a career in IT. It includes all aspects of support, fault finding, configuration, repair and introductory networking. You can choose the skills and knowledge you need to specialise in anything from servicing and software development to fault finding and cyber security.

Course content

This apprenticeship is equivalent to five GCSEs at grade A-C. Mandatory units include:

  • Health and safety in ICT
  • Developing your effectiveness and professionalism

You will also select from a range of optional units which may include:

  • Software installation and upgrades
  • Technical advice and guidance
  • Technical fault diagnosis
  • Specialist or bespoke software

Full use of an online portfolio Smart Assessor

Functional Skills Must undertake Maths English and ICT at L1 or Provide copies of GCSE

Entry requirements

You need to be aged 16 or over and working for 30 hours a week or more. Apprenticeship programmes require a level of English and Maths which we can help you to achieve through the completion of functional skills or in some cases GCSEs

      The College is easily accessed by less then 10 minutes drive from both the M25 and M11 motorways.

      We’re also a 5 minute walk from the London Underground at Debden Station on the Central Line, 
      and we’re a 10 minute cab ride from Chingford Overground rail station.

      Once you arrive at the College there is a free car park with over 250 spaces, 
      as well as designated areas for coaches and other large vehicles.


      Once on site you can have access to our catering facilities (subject to agreement) and a range of rooms, 
      from our Theatre, with 264 retractable seats, to a standard classroom.

      We also have full IT support, and can offer rooms with either Macs or PCs running the latest industry-standard software.
