Travel and tourism - City and Guilds Diploma in Air Cabin Crew level 2 at Kirklees College, Huddersfield Centre

Course description

This course has been designed with the needs and expectations of the industry and the role of air cabin crew.

Learning involves both theory and practical sessions and training in the new mock air cabin. This is an ideal programme if you are ambitious and keen to work in the air cabin crew sector.

Course content

On this programme you will study:

  • City and Guilds Certificate for Air Cabin Crew level 2,
  • Certificate in Aviation Operations on the Ground (Knowledge) level 2.

You will also study English and maths should you not hold a GCSE grade C or above in these subjects.

Alongside these programmes you will have a weekly tutorial with your course tutor who will work with you to ensure you are as successful as possible and track your progress.

You will be expected to wear a uniform throughout your course.

This qualification is awarded by City and Guilds and was developed in conjunction with employers to provide a modern and updated view of the aviation industry. When you complete it you can leave knowing that you have skills which potential employers are looking for.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs with the following grades: English 3 and maths at 2 or above, and 2 other GCSEs grade 3 or above.


You will be assessed with written work, online multiple choice tests, presentations and role plays in the college’s aircraft cabin.

Financial information

As a full time student you should not need to pay any course or examination fees (under 19).

There may be a cost for equipment, educational visits, printing etc.

Future opportunities

City and Guilds Diploma in Travel and Tourism level 3 or City and Guilds Diploma in Aviation Operation level 3.

Employment as air cabin crew, passenger service agent, ramp handler, or customer service agent are just some of the options which will be available to you.
