Plastering Level 2 Apprenticeship at Carshalton College

Course description

Practical and theoretical training in Plastering.

You will be assessed in the workplace to provide evidence of working at a competent level to satisfy the requirements of the NVQ.

Course content

  • Health/Safety
  • Moving, handling & storing resources
  • Conforming to productive working practices
  • applying finishing plaster to background surfaces
  • producing internal solid plastering/render finishes
  • laying sand & cement screeds to level and/or falls
  • applying projection plaster & maintaining equipment
  • installing mechanically fixed plasterboard
  • produce cement castings.

The course also includes

  • Functional Skills
  • Personal Thinking and Learning Skills
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

 

Entry requirements

An average of grade C in Mathematics and English GCSEs or you will have successfully completed a Level 1 programme.

You will be asked to attend an interview to further demonstrate your commitment to the programme.

You need to be employed as an apprentice Plasterer.

Assessment

You will be assessed in the workplace to provide evidence of working at a competent level to satisfy the requirements of the NVQ.

Financial information

This course currently incurs no fees for 16-18 year old students.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship programme you may be eligible to undertake the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Certificate.
