Course description

This course is designed to explore the big questions! We aim to investigate our place in the universe and how best we can live our lives. This course would be ideally suited to someone who loves arguing their point and investigating the true meaning of what is right and what is wrong. If you would like to debate and discuss some juicy moral dilemmas, this could be the course for you.

Entry requirements

  • To access level three courses at Harton 6th Form, students need to obtain a minimum GCSE only Average Point Score (APS) of 6 (from the best 8 GCSE results).
  • Students should have at least GCSE grade 5 in both English and mathematics.

Future opportunities

This course will help you to tackle moral and ethical dilemmas in a variety of perspective. In terms of career planning Philosophy and Ethics will help you in any career that brings you into contact with people and decision making e.g. Medicine, Law, Social Work , Teaching and many others.

    • A core part of Harton Sixth Form from the early planning stages has been to develop an interesting, varied and worthwhile enrichment programme. This will be timetabled on a Wednesday afternoon for all students and will mean that student’s can develop very important life skills through a varied set of activities and experiences. In an ever competitive University and employment market it will really help ensure that Harton Sixth Form student’s have the edge and have plenty to say about themselves when it comes to applying to progress in the future.
