Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses or equivalent to prepare for higher education in History or related subjects such as English, American Studies, Politics, Archaeology or more general courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to classical civilisation by seeking employment in areas of heritage such as working for a museum or working as a History Teacher. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for. The opportunity to study ancient Greek is, unfortunately, given to few people these days. To have achieved a qualification in it sets you apart and makes you all the more attractive to universities. For those already interested in Latin or Classical Civilisation, or indeed in any literary or historical subject, it would make a useful and enlightening addition. Now that sixth formers are able to choose a wider variety of A level subjects, there is more scope for adventure and ancient Greek is certainly an adventure.
