Electrical Installation Level 2 at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

This course covers the requirements to gain an EAL Level 2 Diploma qualification. The course offers over a one year period, theoretical and practical training in electrical installation work. 

Course content

You will study the following: • Working safely in an electrotechnical environment • Principles of electrotechnology • Electrical principles • Electrical installation (buildings and structures) The course involves the study of Electrical theory and Practical Skills. All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills including maths and English. 

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*-D including English or maths OR a Level 1 related qualification. Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

Assessment

This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including assignments, exams and practical performance.

Future opportunities

The course can lead on to a one year EAL Level 3 Certificate which is a requisite for JIB Trade Card or an Apprenticeship.

Further information

On completion of this course you will receive EAL Diploma Electrotechnical in Building Services and Environment Level 2. It is a nationally recognised qualification by employers. 

You will be expected to undertake regular home study on this course.
