Course description

Students need to be determined, committed and interested in finding out more about French life and culture outside of the classroom and be prepared to keep up with current affairs in Francophone countries.

Entry requirements

5 x A* - C including a grade B or above in GCSE French.

Assessment

Exam Board - Edexcel

AS - Paper 1: 8FR0/01- Listening, reading and translation. (40% of AS qualification) 1hr 50 mins

Paper 2: 8FR0/02- Written response to work, grammar and translation (30% of AS qualification) 1hr 40 mins (Grammar/literary text or film)

Paper 3: 8FR0/03- Speaking. (30% of AS qualification) (Approx 30 mins inc 15 mins prep time)

Theme 2: La culture politique et artistique dans les pays francophones

A2 - Paper 1: 9FR0/01- Listening, reading and translation. (40% of AS qualification) 1hr 50 mins Paper 2: 9FR0/02- Written response to work, grammar and translation (30% of AS qualification) 1hr 40 mins (2 literary texts or 1 text and 1 film.

Paper 3: 9FR0/03- Speaking. (30% of AS qualification) (Approx 21-23 mins inc 5 mins prep time)
