IMI Diploma Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (part time) at Trafford College

Course description

The units of study will include:* Working Safely and effectively during Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair* Foundation Skills for Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair* Light Vehicle Construction & Light Vehicle Maintenance* Operating Principles of Light Vehicle Tyres, Brakes, Steering and Suspension systems* Operating Principles or Light Vehicle Engine* Operating Principles & Maintenance of Light Vehicle Transmission system* Operating Principles & Maintenance of Light Vehicle Electrical & Electronic SystemThe course is a mixture of practical and theoretical knowledge. Approximately 25% of the week will be classroom based.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's at Grade C including Maths and English

Assessment

Assessment is by theoretical testing and practical assignments

Future opportunities

Successful candidates can progress to the IMI Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2 or onto an apprenticeship.
