Construction Operations and Civil Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 at The CDC

Course description

Level 2 NVQ is aimed at people who wish to learn how to place and finish nonspecialised concrete and/or lay domestic drainage systems.

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Construction and Civil Engineering, provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in construction civils within a domestic/commercial environment to demonstrate theor competence.  The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards.

The qualification includes essential health and safety knowledge such as workplace
safety and establishing work area protection, together with communication and
team skills. You will need to be working in the industryor be prepared to gain work experience in order to complete your portfolio of evidence.
 
The NVQ must be completed together with the Diploma Level 2 as part of the Construction and Civil Engineering intermediate apprenticeship.

Preparing and Operating Forward Tipping Dumpers to Receive, Transport and Discharge Materials in the Workplace

Preparing and Operating Ride-on Rollers to Compact Materials in the Workplace

Preparing and Operating Specialised Powered Tools and Equipment in the Workplace

Preparing for, and Arranging and Securing Plant for Haulage in the Workplace

Preparing to and Directing and Guiding Plant and Plant Operations in the Workplace

Providing Temporary Excavation Support in the Workplace

Reinstating Excavation and Highway Surfaces in the Workplace

Reinstating Ground Condition in the Workplace

Segregating the Area for Highways Works in the Workplace

Setting Out Secondary Dimensional Work Control in the Workplace

Slinging and Signalling the Movement of Loads (Secondary Role) in the Workplace

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.  However, we must ensure that individuals have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.
