English Language and Literature at Meden School

Course description

You will study an Anthology of thematically linked spoken and written texts which will offer you the opportunity to consider the three major literary genres and a range of non-literary texts.

You will produce a coursework folder responding to the study of a pair of set texts. You will study how writers use features of speech for dramatic effects and how talk in life is constructed for specific purposes. You will study texts by two different authors writing in two different literary genres.

You will then produce a coursework folder transforming these source texts in to either one or two texts of a different genre.

5 GCSEs A*- C including English (B).
