Life Skills - Entry Level 1 Diploma at Harrow College
This programme is for learners with learning difficulties working towards Entry 1. It will provide an introduction to the essential skills needed to begin establishing a more independent lifestyle where learners will begin making decisions for themselves and taking some control over aspects of their life beyond College.
Learners on this programme will study a number of topics including, keeping healthy and safe, time and money, yourself and others, community involvement and some internal enterprise. There will be underpinning English and Maths where appropriate.
Classroom based learning activities; individual and group tasks. Some visits to the local community facilities.
There are no formal entry requirements. Applicants may be required to undertake a taster day and will need to attend an interview.
Units are assessed internally, through the building of a portfolio of evidence.

It is intended that the skills obtained on this course will enable learners to improve their skills in many areas and prepare for a more independent lifestyle outside College. Individual targets will be set to fully personalize the learner experience.
