ICT A Level at Clacton County High School

Course description

“Growing at four times the UK average for the coming decade, we expect the IT profession will need more than 550,000 new entrants over the next five years.” (Karen Price, Chief Executive Officer of e-skills UK)

Information and Communication Technology offers an opportunity for candidates to identify and solve problems by developing systems in a range of contexts. The course consists of four modules which are assessed by written examination as well as internally assessed projects.

Students will study:

  • Information Systems
  • Presenting Information Task
  • Use and Impact of ICT
  • Relational Database Project

Entry requirements

A minimum of six GCSEs (grades A*-C) is required, including Maths and English. Students will normally require a minimum of a GCSE (grade B) in ICT.
