BTEC National Award in Sport at Queen Elizabeth School

Course description

Over the course of two years you will follow six units, three of which are core units and must be followed, plus three further units from a series of optional units. Students work with greater independence. The ability to meet deadlines is a necessity. There are no written examinations on this course; pupils are assessed by means of assignments which are marked as either Pass, Merit or Distinction depending on the quality of the assignment and the criteria it fulfils. A Pass grade is equivalent to an E grade at A Level A Merit grade is equivalent to a C grade at A Level A Distinction is equivalent to an A grade at A Level In order to obtain these grades ALL assignments in ALL units need to be at that level; i.e. for an A grade all pieces of work must obtain the distinction grade.

Entry requirements

GCSE Passes in five subjects, an interest in sport, plus a good level of performance in at least two sports.
