A Level Performing Arts at The Giles Academy

Course description

This course does not set out to create ‘stars’ but gives students the opportunity to undertake, prepare and perform a role, in a professional manner, as part of a performing arts company. Musical Theatre is an exciting and popular art form that combines singing, dancing and acting and is a significant area of employment within the live performance branch of the industry, with opportunities for chorus and ensemble work as well as leading roles. Areas of study include: Musical Theatre Performance; Principles of acting; Auditions Singing skills for actors and dancers; Dance performance; Choreographing dance

Entry requirements

A minimum of: 5 GCSEs at grade C or above BTEC First Diploma at PASS or above and one GCSE grade at C or above BTEC First Certificate at PASS or above and 3 GCSEs at grade C or above
