AS UNITS
1 Core 1 (C1)
Written examination – 331/3% of AS, 162/3% of A-Level
2 Core 2 (C2)
Written examination – 331/3% of AS, 162/3% of A-Level
3 Statistic 1 (S1)
Written examination – 331/3% of AS, 162/3% of A-Level
Unit 1
This is taught from Sept to Oct by both teachers. The exam for this is taken in
Summer of Yr12. This module covers a lot of GCSE A* work and builds on this
a little, mainly looking at algebra, co-ordinate geometry, introductory calculus,
sequences and series and curve sketching.
Unit 2
This is then taught by the 3 hour teacher from November to May and is
examined in June of Yr12. This module is a continuation of C1 increasing in
complexity.
Unit 3
This is taught by the 2 hour teacher from November to May and is examined
in June of Yr12. This module covers elementary aspects of Statistics such as
methods for summarising data, representing data, correlation, regression,
probability, discrete random variables and the Normal distribution.

A2 UNITS
4 Core 3 (C3)
Written examination – 331/3% of A2, 162/3% of A-Level
5 Core 4 (C4)
Written examination – 331/3% of A2, 162/3% of A-Level
6 Mechanics 1 (M1)
Written examination – 331/3% of A2, 162/3% of A-Level
Unit 4
This is taught from July of Yr12 to Oct of Yr13 by both teachers and is
examined in Summer of Yr13.
Unit 5
This is taught from November to May by the 3 lesson teacher and in examined
in June of Yr13.
Unit 6
This is taught from November to May by the 2 lesson teacher and is examined
in June of Yr 13. This module has some overlap with Physics and includes
Kinematics, Statics, Dynamics, Moments and Vectors.
