Playwork Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Eastleigh College

Course description

Childcare courses at Eastleigh College are taught by professionals, and provide child development and childcare theory from birth to eight years. Each course has a large practical element, which gives you hands-on professional training in pre-schools, day nurseries and schools.

This qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge & understanding required for Play work at level 3 based on the National Occupational standards.

Course content

The qualification is primarily aimed for those working or wishing to work in a more senior role with children & young people in a play environment.

Some units on the Diploma are at Level 4.

Entry requirements

  • No formal entry requirements, Must be at least 18 years old & ability to achieve level 2 Functional skill.
  • Working in a Play work setting with children 4-16 years


Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly.

They will :

  • complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target.
  • support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as: professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

Further information

This Apprenticeship would enable you to work as a Breakfast/After school club assistant or Holiday club Supervisor
