GCSE: Design and Technology - Graphic Products at Ashby School

Course description

This practical design course covers a wide variety of communication techniques, from freehand sketching and a technical drawing to computer graphics. Students will be confronted with real-life problem-solving situations, taken from areas such as product design, as well as advertising and printing.

Future opportunities

Students can take this course to prepare for A level courses such as an A/AS Level in Product Design and Technology (3-D design). With further training, students may choose a career related to Design, Technology and Graphics, such as becoming a graphic illustrator or 3-D product designer. Some students may opt to go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of an employer.
