Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) City and Guilds 2365-02 Level 2 Certificate at Guildford College

Course description

The first step to qualifying as an electrician or starting work in the industry, taught in our newly refurbished workshops.  The programme consists of 4 on-line theory and 2 practical assessments related to the qualification units.

  • Craft theory (wiring regulations)
  • Installation Skills
  • Industry Structure

Entry requirements

GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above is essential, a GCSE in a Science subject would be an advantage.


Continuous assessment at College. There are also externally set exams and practical assignments set by City and Guilds.

Future opportunities

Work in the industry and progress to Level 3 to obtain the full Technical Certificate.

Further information

You will need to purchase/provide IEE On-Site Guide, steel capped footwear, study equipment such as pens, paper and scientific calculator.

All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
