Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, our Construction department hosts first-class facilities, providing you with the perfect foundations to construct a successful career. Whether it’s brickwork, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, plastering or plumbing, our industry experienced tutors will support you in moving up the career ladder, no matter what level you start at.
The College has strong links with employers such as Willmott Dixon, and our tools are state of the art, thanks to generous donations from Stanley Black and Decker. Previous students have taken part in the HOPE Strategy project; where Rotherham College teamed up with Rotherham Borough Council and charity Action Housing to help renovate derelict houses into fully functioning, modern homes for vulnerable people. There are fantastic opportunities to showcase your skills at competitions such as SkillBuild, as well as the possibility for your work to be entered for the City and Guilds Gold Awards.
Do you want to earn money while you learn?
This Apprenticeship will give you the skills needed to work within the construction industry whilst getting paid and carrying out practical work in the field. You will work in a construction environment where your duties will involve many areas of brickwork.
What will I study?
•Gain the skills needed to work as a bricklayer
•Learn how to finish concrete, set out and erect masonry structures
•Learn how to set out basic buildings while following health and safety regulations

•Study within the Construction department, which is grade one ‘Outstanding’ for its teaching and learning by Ofsted
