Computer Games Creation BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Burnley College

Course description

Game development is a growing industry that allows individuals to either self-release games as an independent developer or to gain entry into the industry.

This course focuses on the designing and building of computer games using industry standard software. Students will learn to design 2D and 3D digital graphics, programme computer games, write compelling story lines that give depth to their games as well as developing entrepreneurial skills to make a living in the industry.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language OR a relevant Level 2 Diploma with a Merit grade and a GCSE grade C in English Language.

Assessment

We use a variety of theory and practical based approaches to assess students including: reports, presentations and practical assignments.

Future opportunities

Upon successfully completing the course you could progress onto a range of university programmes within a gaming context, such as the BSc (Hons) in Games Enterprise Course at UCLan Burnley.
