Creative Digital Media Production (Media): BTEC Extended Certificate at New College Pontefract
You should study BTEC Media if you are interested in the production side of the media and want to explore the creative, practical side of the subject.
You will study different aspects of the Media industry such as Media Representations, building a Pre-Production Portfolio, completing an investigation into a Media industry and one specialised production area.

The course will be assessed though a combination of an exam, externally set and marked work and internally assessed coursework.

As Creative Media is a multi-disciplinary subject it will prepare you for a wide variety of Higher Education courses and employment.
What skills do I need?
Creativity, good time management, attention to detail.
How will I be taught?
You will work both independently and within groups to analyse and produce media. The majority of the time you will be actively engaged in the research & analysis of current media to produce AV essays, presentations, design & planning, the film & editing of your own original pieces.
How much private study should I expect to do?
A minimum of 4 hours study is expected with this time to be spent completing AV essays, preparing presentations, film & editing original media products.
What materials will I need to purchase?
No specialist equipment is required.

you are effective at working independently to strict coursework deadlines; if you are creative and enjoy taking projects through from initial ideas to final completion; and if you are interested in learning how to use new hardware and software.
