Creative Digital Media Production at Cheam High School
Creative media Production has always been popular at Cheam and now with the introduction of the digital aspect to this course, we believe it is now more relevant than ever before. This new course has been designed to explore the role of digital media in our society. It focuses both on practical and theoretical skills much sought after in the media industry. There is an equal balance between coursework and externally assessed work. In Year 12, written work is completed in preparation for the practical work in Year 13.
Responding to a Commission
This is a controlled assessment that takes place over five hours. It is an externally assessed unit that considers the commissioning process and how media producers respond to a client by generating ideas, using a range of skills.
This is an internally assessed unit that will allow you the opportunity to develop your understanding of the essential pre-production work that takes place as part of media production. You will work towards a brief and create a pre-production portfolio for your own creative media production.
For all BTEC courses students must have achieved five A*-C at GCSE OR Equivalent including a C or above in GCSE English or Maths.
• There is a mixture of internal and externally assessed work in both Year 12 and 13 Students will complete a range of tasks that will allow.
• For achievement through to Distinction level.
