Communication and Culture AS/A2 Level at Cecil Jones College

Course description

You will study a range of different cultures. Students will look at theorists including Goffman and learn about how different people perform in situations that they face. Students will look at advertisements and how they are portrayed. Within A2 you will look at feminism, post-modernism and Marxism.

Entry requirements

Five A*-C including a C or above in English.


We learn from researching and class based activities. Students will be assessed through examination at the end of the academic year.

Future opportunities

This course to lead to a career in teaching, the arts and journalism. This course allows students to develop a wide scope of knowledge and gain transferable skills that can be taken forward to university or employment.
