Drama at St George's Catholic School

Course description

Edexcel A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies will be of use should you choose to study any of the following subjects at university or enter any of these areas of work (among others): Law, English Literature, Theatre Courses, Social Work, Classics, Anthropology, Communication Studies and Journalism.

At AS you will develop vocal and movement skills that impact on the range of characters you are able to perform and will have directing opportunities to develop your own vision of a set text.

For A2 you will have the opportunity to devise your own original piece of theatre as well as prepare for the written exam, which focuses on texts from different time periods and their original performance conditions. The work you will undertake challenges you physically, emotionally and intellectually. You will develop as a reflective practitioner to understand more deeply the impact of the dramatic arts in our society.

Entry requirements

GCSE Drama A* - C and GCSE English (Lang and Lit) A*-C.
