Caring for Children Diploma CACHE Level 1 at East Berkshire College

Course description

This is a Level 1 course that introduces an understanding of the skills required to work with children.

You will cover a wide range of topics including growth and development of young children, understanding play, health and safety, healthy living and diets, and a variety of practical activities to explore with young children.

Entry requirements

You will need three GCSEs at grade E or above. Reference from school or previous course tutor.


Assessment will be through a variety of evidence produced for your portfolio. Topics are classroom based and will include practical and written activities.

Future opportunities

  • Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People's Workforce
  • A career in childcare after completing a Level 2 childcare qualification.
