Electrical Installation Advanced Apprenticeship at Burnley College

Course description

Practical experience is gained on-site in the workplace for four days per week and one day each week is spent in College to gain the underpinning knowledge required for modules including: Practices and Procedures, Legislation, Inspection, Testing, Commissioning and Certification and Fault Diagnosis.

Our Construction courses are taught in our outstanding two bespoke Construction buildings and new Centre for Engineering Excellence built in 2015, providing the most up-to-date environment possible to develop your skills in this specific trade.

All workshops are purpose built and state of the art which meet the needs of the learner and the ever changing industry. These workshops run alongside outstanding classroom and IT facilities, supporting the learner experience whilst studying at the College.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English Language, Mathematics, Science and IT OR Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR a relevant Level 2 Diploma with Merit grade and a GCSE grade C in English Language, Mathematics, Science and IT.

Assessment

Assessments will be carried out in placement or at College.

Future opportunities

A career as a qualified Electrician, or university study such as a Foundation Degree in Building Services and Sustainable Engineering.
