Business Administration is vital across almost all commercial and industrial sectors. It doesn’t matter if you are working in insurance or manufacturing, business administration is a necessary process. Whatever sector you work within, the business administration function will be in an office environment. Depending on the size of organisation you may work in a very large team, specialising in a certain area or you may work in a small office where you will gain experience of a wide range of tasks. Some opportunities include junior roles in all occupations and will require individuals to carry out day-to-day operational tasks such as word processing, telephone work and operation of computer systems. There are a wide number of options, which reflect the varied content of the job roles available. At Apprenticeship Level learners will work towards three mandatory units plus a wide selection of optional units and a Technical Certificate – two units. Functional Skills - English and Mathematics.
No formal qualifications are required although individuals must be employed in a business administration role. Individuals should demonstrate a committed and enthusiatic approach and be sufficiently motivated to achieve this framework. Individuals will complete a basic skills assessment test and those who display results at entry 3 or below will be provided with IAG supporting their needs and referral to the skills for life team.
Progression: Advanced Apprenticeship in business administration, customer service, Team leading or management qualification, managerial role
