Business is about developing the minds of students to support them in starting their own ventures. We know students have a wealth of ideas and understanding business will help to shape and formulate those ideas; hopefully into reality. The entry requirement for level 3 is APS > 37 or above including Mathematics and English with grade 4 or above. This qualification is equivalent to three A levels. This course is also offered as the Extended Certificate which is equivalent to one A level.
There are 13 units that must be completed over the two years, 7 which are mandatory and 6 optional. There are 4 exam compulsory units and 9 of the units are coursework which are moderated by the exam board.
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign – learners will be provided a case study two weeks before a supervised assessment period to carry out research. The supervise assessment is a maximum of three hours. Written submission 70 marks
Unit 3: Personal and Business finance – Written examination 2 hours, 100 marks.
Unit 6: Principles of Management – learners will be provided a case study two weeks before a supervised assessment period to carry out research. The supervise assessment is a maximum of three hours. Written submission 88 marks.
Unit 7: Business Decision Making - learners will be provided a case study two weeks before a supervised assessment period to carry out research. The supervise assessment is a maximum of three hours. Written submission 70 marks.

The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses, such as BSc (Hons) in Business and Management or BA (Hons) and BSc(Hons) in Business Studies to name a few. Alternatively students can go into employment positions include junior business roles in marketing, administration, finance, events management, human resources, and other related areas in the business sector, including Higher Apprenticeships.
