Electrical Level 2 Diploma at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College*

Course description

This course will provide learners with the essential practical skills and underpinning knowledge to further a career in the electrical industry.

  • Electrical Installation Theory and Technology
  • Electrical Installation Methods, Procedures and Requirements
  • Electrical Installation Craft Skills
  • Electrical Science and Principles
  • Maths and English in line with government requirements.

Entry requirements

Ideally you will have completed a level 1 qualification/have some experience within the industry or have GCSE grade C in Maths and English. You will be required to attend an interview and a Maths and English assessment.

Assessment

Targets will be set and agreed with your tutor, you will receive regular feedback and one to one reviews to ensure that you are on track to achieve your goals. Your practical work will also be assessed by your tutor and your portfolio will be assessed by our internal verification team. Parents can also monitor progress through the Pro Monitor Portal.

Future opportunities

After successful completion you can progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Electrical or an apprenticeship.

Opportunities that exist in the building services sector include Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Technologies and Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
